The Human Search for Purpose
Every individual in the world is wandering in pursuit of the destination of their dreams.
Some seek peace in verdant valleys,
While others explore the expanses of the sky in search of their destiny.
Some delve into the depths of oceans to uncover the secrets of life,
While others climb the peaks of mountains to understand the meaning of success.
…Yet,
Every journey halts at some point,
Every light dims after reaching a certain place,
And every quest eventually dissolves into a void.
However…
There is a light that has shone for centuries.
There is a path that has never been blocked.
There is a highway that always leads to its destination.
And that is Islam—
The eternal guidance of Allah that lays out the true and straight path for every human being.
Guidance Through History
History bears witness that whenever humanity strayed into darkness, whenever societies suffered intellectual or moral decline,
the light of revelation illuminated the path.
Allah sent His chosen servants with the message of guidance, introducing humanity to its purpose in life.
All prophets consistently preached:
- Servitude to Allah
- Establishment of justice and fairness
- Moral purification
- Mutual respect and love among humans
This eternal truth has been conveyed by every prophet—from Adam to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus (peace be upon them all), and ultimately, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The difference was only in the Shariah of each prophet, adapted to the time, civilization, and understanding of their people, yet the essence of religion remained the same.
The Timelessness of Islam
Today, countless ideologies, philosophies, and civilizations exist.
Each claims perfection in its principles and truth in its path.
Yet, every ideology changes over time,
Every philosophy declines due to inherent weaknesses,
And every civilization eventually becomes a tale of the past.
Islam alone is eternal—from eternity past to eternity future—because its foundation is not human desire, but the wisdom of the Creator.
Islam is not merely a set of rituals; it is a complete way of life encompassing society, economy, ethics, justice, politics, and law.
It ensures the spiritual, moral, and social evolution of humanity.
If a person seeks success,
If nations wish to progress,
If the world seeks peace and justice,
The only solution is to take refuge under Islam, follow its principles, and walk the path it outlines.
This light never fades, this lamp never dims, and this path never closes,
Because it is the eternal guidance revealed by the Creator Himself.
The Meaning of Religion
The term Din literally means law, system, and accountability.
In reality, it is a comprehensive system guiding humans not only to improve their worldly life but also ensuring success in the Hereafter.
It is not a mere collection of thoughts; it governs every aspect of life, combining simplicity with universal scope.
Translation:
“Indeed, the religion with Allah is Islam.”
Reference:
(Aal-e-Imran: 19)
This religion has existed since the creation of humanity and will remain until the end of time.
From Adam to Jesus (peace be upon them), all prophets conveyed the same message:
Arabic Text:
“Serve Allah alone; He is your Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign.”
Over time, societies evolved, civilizations rose and fell, and Shariah of the prophets adapted to circumstances, yet the core essence of the religion remained unchanged.
When humanity reached a stage of intellectual and civilizational maturity, Allah sent the final prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, completing the religion.
Translation:
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as your religion.”

Shariah: Eternal Principles, Temporal Rulings
The foundations of Islam have always remained constant:
- Tawhid (Oneness of Allah)
- Risalah (Prophethood)
- Akhirah (Hereafter)
- Social, economic, and moral principles
These truths underpinned the teachings of every prophet.
Shariah, comprising practical laws, changed according to time and circumstance.
Translation:
“He has prescribed for you the same religion He enjoined upon Noah and the revelation We sent to you… maintain the religion and do not divide in it.”
Reference:
(Ash-Shura: 13)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
Translation:
“I am the closest of people to Jesus, son of Mary, in this world and the Hereafter; all prophets are brothers, and their religion is one.”

(Bukhari, Muslim)
Eternal Principles of Religion
Islam is not limited to any era or nation; it applies to all generations.
Core Principles:
Faith (Imaniyat): Belief in Tawhid, Prophethood, Hereafter, and the divine books.
Worship (Ibadat): Servitude to Allah has always been a hallmark of every Ummah, though forms varied (Salah, Sawm, Zakat, Hajj).
Ethics (Akhlaq): Truthfulness, integrity, justice, equality, and respect for humanity.
Transactions (Mu’amalat): Marriage, inheritance, trade, and social relations—core principles consistent, details adapted to time.
Unity of the Ummah: Dream or Reality?
Translation:
“Indeed, this [prophetic] community is one, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.”
Reference:
(Al-Anbiya: 92)
This verse declares that from Adam to Muhammad ﷺ, all prophetic communities were essentially one Ummah. Differences in Shariah did not affect the unity of the Ummah.
The Danger of Sectarianism
Despite believing in one Allah, one Prophet, one Quran, and one Shariah, Muslims today are divided into countless groups.
Translation:
“And do not say to one who greets you with peace, ‘You are not a believer.’”
Reference:
(An-Nisa: 94)
The Prophet ﷺ repeatedly admonished against judging the faith of others superficially, emphasizing that Islam’s essence is brotherhood, love, and humanity.
If Muslims do not rise above narrow-mindedness and prejudice, the fire of sectarianism, disguised as piety, could lead to widespread destruction.
“O Allah, guide us to that which You love and are pleased with. Amen.”
